Commercial layer production and table egg supply

Our operations

Commercial layer production, managed daily.

Layer production is the core of Sowaya. The farm runs the full daily cycle that supports stable egg production, from feeding and water to egg collection, grading and reporting.

The daily cycle

Eight routines that keep production steady.

Nothing here is left to chance. Each routine has a schedule, an owner and a record, so management can see what happened and act on it in time.

  1. 01

    Feeding

Defined feeding times and controlled feed changes.

  2. 02

    Water supply

Routine checks of water lines and drinking systems.

  3. 03

    Lighting

Lighting managed as part of the daily cycle to support stable egg production.

  4. 04

    Flock observation

Daily flock counts, mortality records and health observations by house.

  5. 05

    Sanitation

Regular manure removal, sanitation, pest control and restricted access.

  6. 06

    Egg collection

Scheduled egg collection from each production house.

  7. 07

    Grading and inventory

Eggs are sorted and graded, and stock is checked and recorded before supply.

  8. 08

    Reporting

Daily reports support traceability, management review and timely action.

Records and accountability

If it matters to the flock, it is written down.

Daily records are how a disciplined farm stays in control. They support traceability, management review, inventory control and timely action.

  • Daily flock counts by house
  • Mortality records and health observations
  • Feed type, quantity, timing and stock
  • Water line and drinking system checks
  • Egg collection, grading and inventory

Growth capability

Flock development and expansion.

Sowaya is developing an integrated day-old-chick-to-point-of-lay programme to improve flock planning and support future layer operations. It covers brooding, growing, vaccination coordination, feeding transitions, water management, ventilation, biosecurity, routine weighing and health monitoring.

Planned development
  • Purpose-designed brooding and growing facilities for future flocks
  • Phased development of additional layer housing, with planned capacity for up to 10,000 birds
  • Improved production continuity through scheduled flock replacement
  • Stronger traceability from chick placement to commercial production

The expansion described here is planned. It is not part of current operating capacity until facilities are completed and commissioned.
